Once in every while, you'll find a movie that made you question your existence (Where do I fit in all of these? What's the point of your being here? What is the meaning of all life then? ). Then your judgement ( This is crap, but then why am I still amused by this trickery? Is this so bad that it is good or vice versa? A line that borders grotesquery and greatness perhaps?) . And in the end your sanity (I like it actually, am I nuts?)

Of course you're familiar with the arousal inducing image of Leeloo and Leonidas. Well, this movie have Sean Connery as the leading man and as you know his version of Bond, James Bond is unquestionably  HOT.

But this is before all of the above. This is something else. This is Zed.

The Juxbox: Sofia Coppola and Ray Caesar

Great minds, they say, think alike.

I have been biding my time, say like two years, to watch Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette". And one glimpse of the blue paneled carriage just sweep me off my feet. This pâtisserie of a film is just  so girlishly gorgeous and my eyes greedily devours all of its the visual delights. But a nagging feeling of the deja vu  quickly followed. And I found a  man called Ray Caesar that could give enough answers before I sing myself to sleep.

Layered Chocolate

With the flu gone and so went with it the howlin’ oh-my-back blues! And I finally managed to properly unpacked my luggage, yay! Pop wanted me to meddle with his netbook, but I sorrily didn't finish it. But  Dad I really really have to go out and see the ummm streets of Jakarta this Saturday. I have to make sure that it still hellishly hectic, I’ve been way for so long, no?

Was very late for Alice in Wonderland, Eck?! What the Uck by the way. Even the scoring is mind-bogglingly ear-aching , highly unusual for Elfman. The only things that managed to impress me is Anne Hathaway’s White Queen which is just so very hilarious and the awesome looking Evangelion-ish red cards. I sincerely wish Grace Coddington was to be asked on this project, her vision of Alice is one of the best fashion intrepretation ever....

A Wendy’s frosty console my soul enough before we have a proper food after at Bakmi Margonda. The eatery have been selling noodle since 1968 and still packed as ever. Too bad I was too hungry and busy with my food and my friends  I didn’t really take proper pics of the place. Oh well. We go straight to Kineforum at TIM to see the premiere of “At the Very Bottom of Everything”, right after.

2009: The Year My Geeky Heart Goes Galloping

 2009 has definitely brought sexy back to sci-fi. Topping the year off was the much talked about James Cameron’s “Avatar”. Although I watched it way into 2010, the movie itself was released a day after Xmas so it was appropriate. As for me, I was slow. Truthfully confessing, I was giving too much of time to my anti-social self. Movie-snobby speaking, I waited till the excitement died down so I could watch the movie without preconceived ideas that will totally destroy the whole enjoyment. Just watched the Imax3D version yesterday, and you don’t have to try LSD to say that it was ‘Trippy!' Too fucking bad that the 3D version showed in XXI involved too much cuts, say about 5 – 10 minutes. Okay, deleting the sex scene was understandable since here everything that includes ‘animation’ or ‘superhero’ and recently ‘3D glasses’ are considered ‘kid stuffs’.  But what I didn’t understand why the hell they have to cut all the glorious visuals of the Pandoran landscape, gahhhh!!! Was that really necessary?! You didn’t delete both in the ‘normal’ version (on which the ever nagging tots and tweens are very much around as well due to the long lines of the 3D)
