Travel Journal: Japan Trip 2016

Buying funny beauty mask is a must! We actually bought  the mini porcelain masks here in a second hand shop!

So finally I scanned my Japan Travel Journal, and I would scan the rest of my travel journal entries from way back when, last entry scanned was India and that was from 2012, there are some mini trips I did after that before life takes over and I moved to Australia.
Talking about moving, we just recently settled down in our new nest, thus the huge time span between the trip and the posting of the blog. Every weekend we are either packing stuffs, putting them in the garage, and scouring for furniture etc since we moved from a fully furnished into an unfurnished apartments. If you would like to see my freshly decorated nest head over to my instagram, it is @shalindrome.
Well, anyway at first I planned to do a haul post along with this, but actually I didn't really buy that much stuff when in Japan. I brought home lotsa food though but all got eaten straight away.... And Tadaaaaa here's my journal.....

Fascinating New Things

This week is super tiring but super happy too!!! And these are the things that keep the after work blues away. Ladies and Gentlemen meet my new laptop;  Sherlock Korolevich.

It's a HP Probook 4230s, with a second generation i5 and 4 Gig DDR3 all in a compact 12 inch package. Sweet... I've been without a computer for so long, I felt so blessed with one now. What a wonderful machinery. Of course I haven't try anything on it. I just used it for umm playing games (Angry Birds Rio) and watched DVD (Downton Abbey).
So, is it fast? I can't really tell.

I received this packages from Annah and Holly that are filled with so much awesome stuffs!!! It's like Halloween and Christmas and Birthday in the same time!!! Super yayness!!

See!!! Awesome right?!! Annah made the silly cat-caterpillar thingie on top and Holly send this awesome cat buttons. They're such a cute cat people. And those are pin-up pins!! And how about that ribs earrings?!! Happy happy happy!!!

super cute right?!

TADAAAA!!! Isn't this just the most awesome necklace evvah??!! I think it's a velociraptor by the the shape of the head and raptors rocked! But recent finds suggest raptor have feathers, say you. Please shut-up and lemme have my Jurassic Park moments here. You wanna argue still? Then it's a T-Rex with head defect okay, you happy now? I dunno how the head gone defect, you go and find out if you're sooooo smart. Geez...
Umm now the inner geek have gone sulking let us summon the inner shopper.

The Juxbox: Natural Curiosities

I'm a hoarder by nature and with my interest in anatomy, science, books, and decorating it's no great surprise that one of my dreams is having my own Wunderkammer.  Isn't just grand to have a roomful of books and interesting objects and whatnots. Too be frank the dream, as any good dreams are, is a bit far fetched. I would be more happy enough to settle with a copy of Albertus Seba's Cabinet of Natural Curiosities (remember this please, especially on my birthday). Or perhaps not, and went collecting little by little until I die, in the meanwhile I will share my collection here, this blog is my weenie web wunderkammer after all.

How could I not envy him, cool job, awesome house, even fabulous clothings.

Work in progress: Goodness

Me and my sister decided to start an online shop called Goodness. Currently, we're still tidying things up, open new accounts, administrations, logo and concept  designing, and so on. I will have my handmade whatnots to sell at Goodness too and I've been doing my good enough (can't say best, since it's stupendously slooowwww) effort to get rid of my heap of the half-finishes and actually made some. We've been pretty busy these two weeks. I do hope we will be able to open it soon, very soon. In the meanwhile here are some photos that I took on Friday....

M is for Martens

Dear Valentine Rose, I don't really mind that you have completely drained my savings. I would even sacrifice my movie-goings, my book buyings, my monthly food-binge with the girls, even my nearly diminishing social life just to have you by my side .
What's a month or two? I know you'd be good to me for life. You're the best boots ever. I love you. Let's walk this world together and kick some ass!

Candy Colored Crystals

I usually dislike crystal knick-knacks, which my mother and other Indonesian middle-class wives seem very fond of, but this one got me! As a kid this was my Faberge, and I dare not to even touch it! My love for it has my curiosity of dismantling almost everything at bay.
The shape, the burst of colors, the funny-bubbly-things inside are just too dreamy……
And I don’t want to ruin that…

Seeking treasures within the confines of the familiar

This weekend my too-sensitive-it-is-damn-troublesome-nose got me stuck within the perimeter of my kid sister’s room. There’s some sort of small renovation in my parent’s house but the dust and debris just flew all over. Though I managed to go out once in a while, as a living entity one can’t help to feel one’s natural urges, my nose just won’t compromise. Thus the nasal river runneth again and again and again. And left me Rudolphed.
But I just can’t help myself to do some rummaging. A habit of mine when there’s no one around. I’ve been doing it since junior high, yet the house still held so many surprises. Always want to be a pirate, I am, and sail the seven seas in a glorious search of gems and gold. I guess that’s pretty much why. And so, like any good seafarers will, I brace myself despite the disastrous dust, the itchiness, the rash, the snot, the asthma, and whatever may…. To open the door and hunt them treasures! Yaaarrrr!!!
And I found:
• My skull earrings, Yay! Thought I lost them…
• Awesomely layered (read: damaged) pictures of our family trip to New Zealand that could make Lomo-owners envious
• Formal portraits of mom and dad, think it was from the 80s, by the size of it I think it was leftovers from passport or visa making process.
• Tangoes and Pocket Scrabble! How cool is that! My dad used to bought me and my sister pocket board games and the likes, to keep us entertained (or keep us quiet) on long trips. And those two are my favorites, while Gina prefers monopoly. In the scrabble score card remaining page, there’s my mother’s handwriting. Only four rows have been filled, the session was mother vs me, and I was winning…. Wonder what happened, what words we used, and why we didn’t finish the game….

I Love: Can Canisters!

Yes yes... And now I want to flaunt my finds... Weep now you less unfortunate minstrels! (insert mad scientist evil laughter here) Ahem....The aforementioned minstrels are most prolly fictitious. And yet here I am standing proud as one of the nearly extinct species of tin-can-collectors!
Now.... Can Ken collect as many as he can can canisters or as many as Kenny's can canisters?
